Sickness Update/Video Blogging

So yup we were sick. Nate was the worst. His breathing was so bad Dr. Kopper (who is Kelly from the NICU's daddy!!) had Nate do a nebulizer treatment right there in the office. Nate was a big mess all day and everything hurt. Alex was pretty good, he does have a minor ear infection (surprise, surprise!) but other than that he is good.

So yesterday we hung out with Mommy all day and didn't let her get anything done on her day off. Today Alex was much better so he got to go to school, Nate however needed another day of resting, so he hung out with Mommy all day.

We decided to do some video blogging. So here we are. Today! Enjoy

March for Babies

So we are over 1/4 of our way to our big goal as you all know..we have raised $1,060 so far and our team as a whole has raised $2,130. GO US! Big thanks to everyone who has donated so far. We don't care how much you donate $5, $10, $50, $100 whatever you can do is a big help.

Mommy went through her old lap top and found this video of the very first time she got to hold Nate. He was A MONTH OLD!!!! But look how tiny we were. Oh and what Mommy is actually doing is called Kangaroo Care - she would put us right up against her chest so we were skin to skin and it would help us bond with her as well as keep us warm... since we were too small to even keep ourselves warm

BIG update!

We have had such a busy week. Let's start with Sunday. We were still in Pittsburgh so we decided to go to Great Aunt Helen and Great Uncle Bill's house to celebrate Grandma and Uncle Bill's birthdays. We had tons of fun running literally around the house. We did sit still long enough to take some pictures with people.

Monday morning mommy had a dentist appointment and we got to tag along, we thought it was fun an all until it was our turn to get our teeth checked out. Miss Merrie didn't clean them, but we didn't enjoy her looking around either. We are going to have to make an appointment with a pediatric dentist though since Miss Merrie thinks they will be a better fit for us, since we are so young.

Tuesday morning we went to our NICU follow up at St Agnes. Nate is pretty much right on track for a normal 2 year old. Alex is, not surprisingly, developing slower and is below average for a normal 2 year old. So he will be watched and get more extra help. Also he is going to see a specialist to check out his head cause it hasn't grown too much.
Wed we went to Nana's house! We had tons of fun, but we missed Grandad who went on a boating trip with Great Uncle Bob, but we will see both of them next week when we visit. YAY! Nana pulled out the little pool and we had fun splashing around in it... and climbing out and running away.

Update!

So we know we haven't updated since Obama because president. There hasn't been too much going on here. Wed. we went to Nana and Grandad's house and had tons of fun running around their basement playing with toys and climbing on their stairs... as usual.

Thursday Miss Ashley (a friend of Mommy's who gave us our favorite monkeys for our 1st birthday) came over and played with us. Then we napped. Then Miss Cheryl came to play with us. Alex hasn't walked since last Tuesday, just being difficult like that. But he has been standing and hanging out like that for longer periods of time.

We haven't been up to too much the last two days. We are currently blogging from Nana and Grandad's house waiting for Aunt Courtney and Uncle Todd to arrive... oh we almost forgot... our baby cousin-to-be is a.... GIRL!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is so excited, we can't wait to meet her... however we are going to talk to her today about staying in for a long time, since we are expert NICU babies... and while we LOVE our nurses and all the attention we received.... she would have more fun going right home where she will be spoiled by both sets of her grandparents and all her aunts and uncles... since she is the 1st girl baby on both sides of the family. Wait... does that mean attention won't be on us anymore.... hmmmm... this may not be as fun as it sounds.

Alright... well gotta go play with all of our toys... Mommy is taking pictures so we will post them later this week!

All about Alex... well almost

So we are still waiting for the official pictures of Alex's head, so Mommy took some of him... they aren't the best of the progress... but you people are so demanding. They do not do him justice!

Also we got to go to St. Agnes today and visit our favorite NICU nurses, Miss Celeste and Miss Kelly. We also got our hair cut afterwards. Nate was awesome and sat perfectly still and watched Dora while the nice lady was cutting his hair... Alex on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it. Oh well... we all survived!

Big weekend coming up and we are kicking it off tomorrow when Grandma and Grandpap come to play with us. YAY!!!! There will be tons of pictures of the zoo posted later next week as well other pictures taken from this weekend... until then.. ENJOY!

Big Update

So first and foremost. Our highlight this week was going back to the NICU where we spent 4 months hanging out. We visited our favorite nurses, Miss Celeste and Miss Kelly. We got there and neither of our nurses were in the NICU, Miss Kelly was getting lunch and Miss Celeste was helping another baby on a different floor. So we hung out with some of our other favorite nurses and waited. Finally Miss Kelly made it back and we got to climb all over her and play with her badge. We were there for about 40 minutes and no sign of Miss Celeste and we were getting hungry and tired. So we decided to head out and come back another day to visit with Miss Celeste. We were leaving and got to the elevator just as the doors were closing.. so we had to wait for it to come back. We were there a good couple minutes waiting.. but wouldn't you know it... Miss Celeste stepped off the elevator. So back into the NICU we went to spend a few minutes with all the nurses again. We had so much fun and Mommy took a few pictures of us.

We have been to a bunch of doctors this week. So we will do a brief recap.

Tuesday we went back to High Risk Follow Up at the hospital so they could see how far we have come since our NICU days. We got to play with things while the doctor, her assistant and 3 med students looked on. We got to play with blocks, cups, crayons (Which we immediately tried to eat... and they were immediately taken away). We showed them our awesome crawling skills and found things they were covering with cloth. Nate almost took out a med student. He slipped by the 6 adults in the room and pulled on a cord and a small fan came flying off a shelf and just barely missed a med student. Nate is developing like a normal 12 month old baby... which is what old we should have been if we hadn't decided to arrive early. Alex is a little bit behind.. but no one seems worried... because its normal for twins to develop differently.

Wed. Alex got his 3rd new helmet. We don't know how long he will have to wear it... it looks just like his other 2 helmets.

We just got back from seeing Dr. Voit who is our surgeon. We had surgery in January to repair our hyperspasia and cordees. Alex's cordee is all better but he still has a hole under his man parts and that is apparently where most of his pee-pee comes out from... neat trick... but not good.. and Nate's cordee needs just a little fine tuning to make it straighter. So we both are going back in for surgery on our man parts on Wed. Sept 17. We really have no idea what that means because we weren't really paying attention we were flirting with the Dr's Assistant... she was funny.

We are exhausted.. so its time for our nap. Mommy is taking us on errand runs when we get up and then Grandma and Grandpap are coming in for the weekend. YAY!!!!!!!
