Grandparents, Pop-Pop, Doctors... oh my!

What a busy week we have had! Tuesday night we went to Nana and Grandad's house with Mommy and spent the night. Wednesday morning we went to Pop-Pop's again and visited him with Mommy and Grandad. This time they got smart and locked us into our strollers... though we did get to climb on Pop-Pop and his wheel chair... and we attempted to play with the tv, phone, remote controls, sink, toilet.... you know... the usual.

Nana and us reading one of our favorite books! "I Spy"

Yesterday Grandma came to visit us and while she was here Mommy took Alex to a head specialist from Johns Hopkins University to see why his head is so small. They met Daddy at the doctors office and Alex had tons of fun exploring the exam room. He was such a good boy and didn't get into too much trouble, though he did try to throw away Mommy's car keys a couple times. But it was good news all around. Nothing is wrong with his head medically, he will probably just have a smaller than average sized head due to the helmet and just being a small guy.

So word on the street is that Grandma is here for the weekend and Grandpap is on his way into town as well. YAY! We will have lots of fun.... as long as it doesn't ran.... oh and who turned on the chill? Mommy has been pulling out long sleeved shirts and sweaters and our long pants. Does that mean it's almost Christmas?

Not So Bad

Well the good news is we aren't really that sick. Alex has a bit of fluid in his left ear so he is on some medicine to help that out. We both are getting nebulizer treatments before bed to help us breath a little better, we aren't congested, but it will help us sleep better (hopefully) as well.

Before dinner we were out playing in the back yard and we saw Jacob and Sofie in their basement (our best friends and next door neighbor twins who are about 8 months younger than us). So their mommy Miss Erika opened the window and we chatted through the screen. When it was time to go in for dinner Sofie gave us both kisses through the screen. Nate got multiple kisses from Sofie... and even a few from Jacob, Alex just got one kiss from each. It was too cute. Unfortunately Mama and Miss Erika didn't have cameras available to capture our first kisses with someone about our age, but next time!

That's about all for now. We need to get back up to speed with this blog, our cousin Kerri is putting us to shame!

lots of news!

Hi Everyone... we will start with sad news first. Great-Grandpap T died this weekend (that's Grandpap's Da-Da)

Now on to lots of exciting news.... first of all.... last night Dada did something to our car seats and we got to face forward finally. It is so cool... we can see Mama now while she drives us around! Look at what big boys we are.....
Nate
Alex

Also in news we got big boy travel beds for when we go to the beach and visit people. We napped in them at Nana's house to try them out. We really didn't fuss as one might imagine when we got zipped in. It's basically like a big tent with an inflatable mattress to sleep on. Here are some pictures of us checking them out the day we got them.

Alex

Us checking them out

Nate leading the way into the cool new toy
Also this week Miss Becca and Aunt Katie came to play on Sunday at Nana's house. We were fairly fussy so we don't have any good pictures to post. Oh well. Alex is pretty much a full time walker. He doesn't do long distances but he really enjoys walking everywhere... sometimes he still holds some one's hand, but it still counts!
We have had runny noses this week. We seem to be better but last night Nate didn't sleep well and Mama and Dada now have sore throats. What Fun!
That's about all for now. More later! Tomorrow we are going to Nana's house to meet Great-Great Uncle Bruce and Miss Barbara (Pop-Pop's brother and his friend)... we will definitely post pictures of that when we get a chance.
And Aunt Courtney is still very pregnant and is due in a little under 3 weeks. We cannot wait to meet our first cousin!!!!!!

What a weekend!

Could we have been any busier??????

So as you Friday was play with Sofie and Jacob and Miss Erika as well as Miss Jeanette day.... yesterday was Aquarium with Aunt Katie and Uncle Ben day!!!! WE HAD SO MUCH FUN...... Some of us would have had MORE fun if we had decided to nap.... :ahem: Nate..... So Nate didn't nap at all before we went to the aquarium and he didn't get to run around as much as he would have liked... Alex was fairly content with being carried every where... there are no strollers allowed in the aquarium. We saw TONS of fish.... as well as sharks, sting-rays, dolphins, birds, sloths, and a tarantula... very cool! We also walk a little bit around the Inner Harbor and saw a bunch of boats.... Uncle Ben steered the stroller like a mad man... but it was fun. Then it was back home for dinner and bed. We were exhausted! But do you think we slept through the night? Of course not... Alex woke up right as everyone was going to bed (Aunt Katie and Uncle Ben spent the night) which was about 1130ish and didn't go to bed till almost 2... poor Mommy was rocking him trying to get him to fall asleep in her arms so he wouldn't cry when she put him down and disturb our guests.... luckily when she did finally put him down... even though he wasn't completely asleep he only fussed for a minute.

This morning Daddy ran us around outside and we saw Sofie and Jacob as well as the other set of twins that live two houses down. But we stayed inside most of the day because it has been very hot out.

*BREAKING NEWS* Alex just hit a HUGE milestone that Miss Cheryl his PT wanted him to do... Alex started walking on his own with no encouragement... walked up to the ball, picked up it threw it, kept walking, walked to the ball, bent down to pick it up again, kept walking and threw it... YAY he can balance himself enough to walk, bend over, pick something up and keep walking... AND throw it....... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in the world of Nate... this weekend... his Godmama...Aunt Katie....whom Mommy loves with all her heart...... taught Nate to say "No-No"...... Mommy currently still finds it amusing... however she mentioned something about payback and it being a female dog.... not sure what that means... but there is a video on Aunt Katie's camera so when we get it we will definitely be posting it.

Ok dinner time. Yum!!! Pictures from this weekend can be found here - http://community.webshots.com/album/570626898wFbIeI

Good news, Bad news

Bad news... we are sick.... just little colds right now, runny noses and lacking in sleep due to lacking in breathing ability in our noses. But no ear infections or anything, we went to the doctors yesterday morning.

Good news. ALEX WALKS!!!!! He went 6 feet, measured distance... not steps, between Mommy and Daddy. He was so proud and confident. He has been doing it way more often now and even take initiative to do it himself. Everyone is hoping that he is a full time walker by our birthday... which is just a few weeks away! (April 4th for those of you who have forgotten already)

Well we need to go play a little bit more before nap time. Just wanted to fill you all in on what has been going on.

update!

First of all, earlier this week we lost our Great-Grandpap G. :( Daddy went to PA with out us or Mommy to say his bye-byes. Daddy should be home tonight and we may get to see Grandma and Grandpap this weekend.

On to happier news. We just got back from Alex's doctor's appointment to check-up on his ear infection. The infection is gone, but there are still some fluids... which means he has to stay healthy for a few more weeks so the fluid can go away with out getting infected again. He didn't get officially weighed in.. but Mommy did sneak him onto the scale while waiting and fully clothed he was over 20lbs 8ozs. Also Alex has been taking more steps and yesterday walked for Miss Cheryl. Last night he took a few steps all on his own without any coaching. He just let go of the chair and took a few steps... Mommy was barely paying attention and almost missed the whole thing. So it may be finally time for Alex to be a full time walker... YAY!!!

Nate has added a few more words to his vocabulary. Yesterday he did the sign for "fish" while pointing to fish in a book... we also use the sign for goldfish snacks... yummy.. our favorite! Nate also this morning said "Kitty" and "Car"... Kitty was while pointing at Piccadilly and Car was while Mommy was pointing to a car and he mimicked what she said. Nate also is almost running and also tip-toes around.

If all goes well, after nap and lunch we may get to go over to Jacob and Sofie's and play with them at their house. If so we will make Mommy bring her camera and take pictures of us and our friends and post them. Ok time to play!

BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG NEWS!

Hey everyone, Nate here. I have a huge announcement to make. My baby brother, yeah I know it's only by a minute, but I am still older and I will never let him live it down... anyways... my baby brother Alex, and let me tell you how proud I am of him... I mean not as proud as I am of myself, I mean come on lets face it... I am AWESOME! But I think you all knew that. Anyways, my baby brother was playing with Miss Lori, who brought her friend an O/T and Miss Lori got Alex to stand up perfectly, which I really don't know what the big deal is because I have been doing it for MONTHS!, anyways so he was standing there a little ways away from Mommy and he from a standing all by himself position he too 5 steps to her. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Previously he had been falling gracefully while taking steps... but it's officially ALEX IS WALKING!!!!!!!!

He was so proud of himself he did his excited thing where he waves his arms like he is going to fly away, opens his mouth really big and screams for like 5 minutes. Mommy was so proud too, she called Daddy and he got proud to..... hmm maybe this isn't a good thing... now I wont get all the attention..... and that mean soon he will start being able to chase me back or worse... out run me.... hmmmm.... maybe we should rethink this whole Alex walking thing..... this isn't going to be good news for me.

Oh well. We are off to Nana's and Grandad's for the day, maybe today Mommy will bring home the rest of our Christmas toys.

Bigger News!

So on Monday Alex took his first unassisted step... today he took 3 steps towards Mommy all by himself.... Daddy help steady him before letting go. ...... speaking of Daddy..... Mommy spent the night at Aunt Katie and Uncle Ben's again and when she came home Nate had a new hair cut thanks to Daddy..... she is less than pleased... but its not as bad as what she did to Alex.

Lots going on this week, P/T, Visiting Nana and Grandad, Grandma and Grandpap are coming down ..... and a weigh-in for Alex with Dr. L. on Tuesday. Stay tuned!

Oops!!

We forgot some very important news. Alex too his first step from standing perfectly by him self... he took a beautiful step towards Miss Cheryl on Monday. Mommy was so excited. YAY!!!!! Hopefully Alex will be walking soon so we can run circles around Mommy all day long.

Nothing new to report, no big plans for the weekend. Mommy and Daddy are exhausted from lack of sleep this week because someone has decided he wants to get up in the middle of the night for no reason (THANKS NATE!!)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

here we go again...again

So um..... we are sick again.... still... We went to see nurse Jessica at the doctors office. We are back on nebulizers. We have been running fevers all weekend, including runny noses, coughs, and Nate has an ear infection. We are also on antibiotics and Tylenol. We go back to visit Nurse Jessica on Wed to see if we are getting better.

Grandma came in on Friday for the weekend (Grandpap stayed home sick) and she decided to stay till tomorrow morning to help out with us.

Even though we are sick events still happen. Alex was standing hanging on to baby jail and Mommy and Daddy went "YAY! *clap clap clap*" so Alex let go ed of the gate and clapped while standing.... before losing his balance and falling down. Nate has some news too... however his is not great. Nate was getting ready for a bath and was hanging on to the tub. Daddy bumped him on accident and Nate fell forward and hit his head on the edge of the tub and got a small cut and was bleeding (no one knows how he cut himself on a smooth tub). Luckily no ER run was necessary.

Thats all for now! Hopefully we will feel better soon!

Happy November!

Well we were big party poopers last night. We were in bed at 5:30 and didn't wake up till about midnight and then went back to sleep... all while Mommy and Daddy were at Aunt Courtney's and Uncle Todd's Halloween party. But let's back up and update everyone on our doctor's appointment.

Alex - 19lbs 4oz, 32in long. Yeah we know he dropped a little weight.. but to be fair last time he got weighed when he was sick he was fully dressed and on Monday they made him butt naked! As it turns out he has an ear infection in his left ear, his weight could be a little better but not too terribly worried yet because at least he is growing!

Nate - 21lbs 9oz, 31.5in long. Turns out he has a DOUBLE ear infection!!

Overall Doctor L was pleased with how we are doing... so much so that we are technically off formula... we say technically because Mommy and Daddy still has a ton of formula left so Dr. L said they can give us bottles of 1/2 formula and 1/2 whole milk... which we enjoy very much. YAY!!!!!! We also have been eating nothing but solid foods... YUM! We don't eat as much as we probably should, but we are getting better at it. We love cantaloupe.. oh and before bed we also get a bottle of Pediasure to give us extra extra calories.

So we have been busy. Miss Sheryl still comes every other Monday for P/T and one Weds we go to play group while Mommy learns how to help us talk. Miss Lori started coming every week to help fine tune some skills as well. We are very popular with the ladies.

We didn't go trick or treating since Mommy and Daddy went to the party, plus we can't eat the candy anyways, so we didn't wear costumes but we did get special shirts for Halloween. Next year we get to really go trick or treating and possibly eat some candy. Besides we haven't been feeling well so sleep was much needed to help us get 100% better. Our coughs are still minor and our ear infections don't seem to bug us.

Today everyone went to Aunt Courtney's and Uncle Todd's to celebrate Nana's birthday. We had so much fun running around and touching their dog Felix.

We should probably update you on what words we can "say"... we don't clearly say our words yet.. and we both know one word in sign language which is "more". We also can wave

Nate's words - light, cat, dog, in
Alex - cat & dog

We are currently uploading pictures from the farm and Mommy and Daddy's big night out.
Check out our webshots page later and look under the "Fall 2008" folder

Zoo pics and a quick update

Well before we get to the goods (pictures from this weekend) we have some more very exciting news from Alex. Unfortunately he has a small cold, but Mommy took him to the doctors yesterday just to make sure there wasn't an ear infection. Good news... no ear infection... Better news.... Alex has officially hit 20lbs!! YAY!!!!! He has gained over a pound in less than them month since our surgery. WAY TO GO ALEX! Nate didn't get weighed since he wasn't showing symptoms... at the time. However we both woke up this morning with runny noses and feeling a little warm. It will be a quiet day in baby jail!

Alright here are only 3 pictures from the zoo... the rest you will have to check out HERE

We are still here

We know its been over a week since our last update. But we have been busy little babies.

On Monday we went to Nana's house because Dada left for Seattle on Sunday for a conference and Mama said that no way was she going to take us on by herself for a week, so she packed up our stuff and off we went. We had so much fun! We were there till Friday morning and got to see Dada when he got home from work. We missed him so much.

Nate learned to wave "bye bye" and to blow kisses, Mommy has been trying to get video of that... however someone would rather play with the camera rather than perform for it. He is also walking around everywhere, very quickly!

Alex now babbles more and says "Dada", he is on the verge of standing up by himself, he can do it for a second... maybe two before he freaks out and sits down.

This past weekend we went to the bookstore with Mommy and to Target to get a new lamp for the living room, plus some new clothes because we don't have much for winter clothes, so Mommy picked out a few long sleeve shirts, and some socks as well.

This coming weekend will be a lot of fun, on Saturday Mommy's color guard is going to be in the homecoming parade which goes right by our house, so Daddy will probably take us to watch that. Sunday we are going to the Zoo with Aunt Katie and Uncle Ben and their nephew Julian, we've never been to a zoo before, lots of pictures will be taken, and on Monday we our getting our family portraits taken by the lady who did Mommy and Daddy's wedding photographs. BUSY WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Tomorrow we see the allergist... right at our nap time.. so lets all wish Mommy and Daddy good luck with that one!!! :)

More later!!!

MORE PICTURES!!!!

So after we got back from the beach Mommy and Daddy upgrade our "baby jail" to give us more space and toys, plus since Mommy had to move our cribs to the center of the room so we couldn't play with the blinds the rocking chair came down to our jail as well. Not much new with us. Alex is babbling A LOT and cruises around in his crib and on the furniture but still not our new baby jail gate.. but it's higher than we are used to.. so that's probably it. Alex also knows how to give high five... he doesn't always do it... but he can when he wants to. Nate is walking a whole lot more and he can wave... he just doesn't know when to do it. Oh well!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Tramatized

We were told we were done with it, that it would be a loooooong time before we would have to go through it again, we were talking months... maybe years..... BUT YOU LIED!!!!!!! We had to go get blood drawn yesterday for our allergy tests. We went last month for our thyroid issue and was told that since that came back looking good we wouldn't have to go through the pain and agony of giving blood again. Alex went first and cried and cried and cried some more. It took about 5 minutes for Mommy to calm him down again. Even then he sat in the stroller whimpering. Nate cried and faught Mommy while she tried to hold him down to give blood, lucky for him this time they only had to poke him once. Mommy said when we were all done and calm again that it would be a while again before we have to give blood.... we will believe it when we see it.

Our newly married Aunt Katie (aka Miss Katie.... aka Nate's Godmama) came to visit on Tuesday. We showed her all of our neat tricks and she took us on a walk with Mommy to Subway for lunch. We did go in our cribs for a little bit to allow them to have some adult time while they looked at wedding pictures and talked about Costa Rica. But of course we knew when she was getting ready to leave and whined to come back down stairs..... and it worked.

We have been getting back to a normal schedule this week. Mommy goes to band camp for an hour after Daddy gets home, but other than that it has been pretty boring. On Saturday we are going to Nana and Grandad's house to hang out with them all day. YAY!

Nate's walking is improving he can take more steps now before falling down and Alex is just starting to figure out cruising.

Beach Update

Sorry we haven't updated. We have been so busy lounging on the beach, eating sand, splashing in the pool, taking siestas, eating and drinking a few bottles a day... of formula.

We went down the beach for the first time on Wed. We played in the sand... ate the sand, sat in the ocean and we got carried into the ocean as well. We loved it!!!!!!!

We also have hung out in the pool every day... OMG so much fun!!!! We love to splash around, take every one's sunglasses off.

While we are on vacation we have been hard at work EATING!!!! Since Nana and Grandad watched us last weekend while Mommy and Daddy went off to Miss Katie's wedding we are eating 3 full meals a day!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! We both are kicking eatings booty!

However there is some bad news. Mommy and Daddy had to take Nate to urgent care Wed. night because he had a very crusty eye. Turns out he had an eye infection AND a DOUBLE ear infection. However no one knew about it because he was his normal self. So he is now on antibiotics.

We head home tomorrow. We are currently uploading all of our pictures onto our photo album. Check them out here - http://community.webshots.com/user/thetwaddles

PICTURES!!!!!!

We made it to the beach with only one major issue... we woke up in Williamsburg and weren't allowed out of our car seats so we started crying so much we threw up... so we had to make Aunt Courtney do an emergency pullover. The remainder of the car ride was uneventful.

Here are the haircut pics as promised
