rainy day yesterday!

Yesterday was a rainy day so we didn't get to go outside and play and today Daddy left for a conference outside of Seattle, so no fun time for us :( But we did get some cute pictures yesterday while we were playing inside. Alex officially gets his helmet off NEXT WEEK!!!! Everyone is so excited, we will post before and after photos up after Mommy takes them... which won't be till next week anyways. For now enjoy these photos.

YAY!

Alex is T - 2 weeks (and 30 minutes) till his helmet comes off for good... YAY!!!

Nothing new with us, just doing lots of playing. Nate is doing LOTS of walking and we are both enjoying this beauituful weather. Mommy has the windows open and we love hearing the birds.

Alex had a follow up eye appointment yesterday and Dr. W. say his eyes are now "dead on" and she is thrilled with how he is doing. YAY... in two weeks he will be a new man!!!!!

There is talk that we may go to the farm or a park this weekend... we will definitely post pictures.

surgery update take 2

Hey Everyone... Alex here... got some news

So everything was going really well until Mommy took off my diaper for his sponge bath and noticed his stent was coming out. So she called Dr. Voit's office and the nurse said to make sure I am still peeing and come in in the morning and they will fix it... however if I don't pee because the stent is blocking it we have to go to the ER, so Mommy called Daddy to update him and then went to bath me. When she took off my diaper afterwards (she left it on and just washed my hair) it was completely out.... the good news is it definitely won't block my pee now.... however first think in the morning we are off to Downtown Baltimore for it to get unstitched from me. Mommy is super excited!!!!

After all that funess.... someone.... and I am not naming names..... but it wasn't me... decided it would be fun to climb onto the shelves in our play area. Luckily Mommy and Daddy were watching and pulled Nate.... I mean the person who shall remain nameless off the shelves and immediately took the shelves out of the play area. However this does mean we now have access to all 3 windows to bang on endlessly!!!

Alright... I am exhausted! Night!!!

Surgery? What Surgery?

WE'RE BAAAAACK!!!!!

We woke up this morning bright and early... since we had been asleep since about 5pm. So around 5am we were ready to play. We slept through the night with no pain killers or feedings needed. Today we are 100% back to our old selves, running around, eating, playing with everything. You wouldn't even know yesterday we had surgery. We are still getting children's Motrin every 6 hours... but we haven had the good stuff with the codine in it since yesterday. Alex's eyes are looking great... minus looking slightly demonic because they are bloody, he is focusing better with both eyes together. YAY!!!!!! Once he gets his helmet off in 3 weeks he will be a new man! (And it will be harder to tell us apart!)

We will post the pictures and video soon. We are just too busy making up for missing out on playing yesterday.

Nana and Grandad were here for 2 days and just left and tomorrow Grandma and Grandpap come. We are going to get lots of loving this week.

Time for sponge baths!!!!!

Surgery Update

Hi It's the twins's Mommy! They are currently sleeping and doing well. Surgeries went really well.

Alex went first and had his eye surgery... which was not laser surgery as previously mentioned... but actual cutting of eye muscles. We can already see a difference. His penis surgery went really well and already looks much better. He had trouble waking up from surgery and not wanting to drink juice, however after about 2 hours I got the brilliant idea of trying to get him to drink from a cup.. SUCCESS! He just wanted to show the nurses what a big boy he was.

Nate just had penis surgery and didn't take very long at all. He came out of surgery and slept for about 45 minutes and woke up ready to go. Guzzled 9ozs of juice and was ready to hit the ground running (he did all this while we were still trying to get Alex to wake up and drink!)

They came home and slept, woke up and played for a bit and are sleeping again. They are on lots of pain killers and we will probably keep them like that through tomorrow just to make sure. We have appointments next week to see both doctors and get surgeries checked out.

We have pictures and some hillarious videos of Nate on the pre-op medicine (he looks stoned) that I will post later.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes and happy thoughts/prayers today.

Then this weekend Grandma and Grandpap are coming to help out..... we don't know what this surgery thing is... but people come to visit us = YAY!!!!!!

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On thursday we went to Alex's helmet appointment and we have some big news to report. On October 8th at 3pm the helmet is coming off for good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! Alex will have had it on for about 10 months by the time he gets it off.... that's over half of his life. Needless to say Mommy and Daddy are very excited. Mommy can't wait to cuddle Alex without the helmet whenever she wants to.

Grandma and Great Aunt Helen came to visit us yesterday. They took tons of pictures so once Mommy gets them she will post a couple. We had a lot of fun!

Today we are going to watch the Virginia Tech Hokies play Georgia Tech on TV... GO HOKIES!!!! However we kind of have to root for GTech too because Uncle Stephen is a senior there. But Daddy, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Todd, and most of Mommy's friends went there, so Mommy is an honorary Hokie.. especially since her colleges didn't have football teams.

Hopefully all goes well and we will still have our surgery on Wed. We have a doctors appointment on Tues. so we will keep you updated.

here we go again

This weekend was a lot of fun. There was tons of rain and we drove down to Aunt Courtney's for Mommy's birthday party, we saw all of our friends. We did have to go to bed about 1/2 way through... but since we weren't there we are pretty sure the party got pretty boring.

We are still coughing so Mommy took us to the doctors today. Our lungs sound great and Nate has a very slight fever, probably due to some more molars coming in. Alex doesn't have a fever but he has an ear infection. This.. as of now... will not postpone our surgery scheduled for next week Wed.

Mommy had to remove the chair in the video from our play area because she doesn't trust Nate to be left alone with it, so she is going to bring it in and out of the play area.

Miss Cheryl came for a visit with Miss Lori on Monday and they love what we are doing. Still need to work with Alex and sitting on his butt and cruising... but other than that not much else new.

We are going to go take naps and hopefully feel better!

MORE PICTURES!!!!

So after we got back from the beach Mommy and Daddy upgrade our "baby jail" to give us more space and toys, plus since Mommy had to move our cribs to the center of the room so we couldn't play with the blinds the rocking chair came down to our jail as well. Not much new with us. Alex is babbling A LOT and cruises around in his crib and on the furniture but still not our new baby jail gate.. but it's higher than we are used to.. so that's probably it. Alex also knows how to give high five... he doesn't always do it... but he can when he wants to. Nate is walking a whole lot more and he can wave... he just doesn't know when to do it. Oh well!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Allergies

Well Mommy finally got a hold of our doctor with the results for our allergies. Alex has the good news. He is allergic to eggs, which is no surprise because he had a bad allergic reaction when he was fed eggs. That is all Alex is allergic to. Nate is allergic to eggs as well, not as bad though. However Nate is also allergic to wheat, but they don't think it is a serious allergy because it only showed up as "weak" on the test.. however he has a "significant" allergy to PEANUTS!!!!!

We both are getting scratch tests done next month to verify and what not.

We both are doing well. Still slight coughs, but Alex's eye looks much better.

Time for naps!!!!!
