SNOW and PICS!!!!!!!!

So Mommy put us upstairs for a nap, Nate slept and Alex didn't... that's another story... but after Nate woke up we looked outside and it was WHITE!!!!!! What the????? snow was everywhere??? So Mommy spent well over 10 minutes getting us bundled up and then took us out on the deck for probably about 5 minutes. We saw Miss Erika and Jacob and Sofie in their house.. nice and warm. Anyways here are some pictures from earlier this month/today's snow.. which was the first time we actually went outside and got to play in it.. though Alex was not liking the cold outside so he hung on to Mommy's legs the whole time... which made it difficult for Mommy to get pictures of him. Nate however was walking everywhere and loving it!!!!!

It's Snowing!!!!!!!!

So we guess this is our first actual snow fall that we can appreciate. Given that our first official snow fall was the first few days of our lives while we were in incubators and couldn't see out the window (even though it was 80 degrees the day we were born.... yeah figure that one out!) And last winter we pretty much slept through and weren't focusing on anything. So.. YAY snow!!!!!! Its not really sticking, but it is fun to watch falling down outside. Course we are seriously easy to amuse right now due to lack of sleep.... thanks to Nate!

So last night at about 1030 Nate woke up crying. Not unusual. A diaper change and some water and he is back asleep. However, for whatever reason he didn't want to be in his crib last night, he didn't want to go to sleep either... but he was so tired. It was the epitome of pathetic. Mommy and Daddy were awake past midnight and he finally went to his crib with a bottle of milk and fell asleep at God knows what time. We were of course both up at 7am and a mess. Mommy pretty much marched us back upstairs at 8 with bottles of milk and we were both out by 9. So today has been an off day, and we are getting tired again. Hopefully its not another crazy night tonight.

Happy Monday!

Sorry we haven't been able to update in about a week. We would have loved to, but Mommy was working hard on the computer all week. Don't know what she was up to, but she wouldn't let us on to update our friends on what has been going on with us.

We have enjoyed being healthy again. Lots of running around baby jail and throwing toys down the basement stairs. Wed. was our last play group/Mommy's last class. It was fun. Some of the other kids who are a little older than us were pretending to be dinosaurs and climbing under the table and we watched them and they were growling at us and stomping around. We thought it was HILARIOUS!

Thursday we went to Nana's and Grandad's we hadn't seen them in a while. We had tons of fun running all around their house. Nana took us to her piano and we had so much fun banging on it. We may be the next Mozart or Bach.

So this weekend Mommy went to Miss Laura's baby shower (Miss Laura is Alex's Goddada's wife) She is having a little boy after Christmas. So it was boys day in the house, we had tons of fun with Daddy. We went to the post office to drop off a big package for Mommy... it had something to do with her being at the computer all week. Yesterday Mommy brought up this HUGE thing. It turned out to be Dada's old keyboard. Mommy put it on the floor and we went nuts! Alex LOVED rocking out to the music that magically came out of it with out even touching it. Nate was all about the volume controls and buttons that controlled the rhythms and melodies, which involved sitting in the middle of the keyboard... but hey it's Nate... would we expect any less from him.

Today we are running some errands and getting showers.... we no longer take baths... unless Daddy does it. Mommy just sits us on our alligator shower pad and hoses us off. We are very good........... usually :)

Well time to go play and bang on things.

we're better!!!!!

We are back to normal finally!!!!! Not even a little cough any more. YAY!!!!!!!!

We had a fun weekend with Daddy and Grandma and Grandpap. Mommy was gone for most of the weekend at a marching band competition. But we got to go for walks and they read us stories and played with us.

Recently Alex has been working on his first word (minus mama and dada which neither of us say any more) "Cat". We love our kitty, she comes to play with us and doesn't mind us too much. We think she is so silly when she rubs up on our toys and scratches at the carpet.

Nothing really new to report. Since we have been feeling better we don't want to sit still for very long..... so off we go!!!

later!!!!

sick.... but worse

So we went to the doctors twice within about 16 hours. Nate got pretty bad yesterday... he was breathing very heavy and he didn't even want to play... which if you know Nate.... that's not like him. He would just curl up in the play area with a monkey or a boppy and just layed there. So Mommy knew something was up, so we both got checked up and Nate has some sort of virus and is on a breathing machine every few hours to help clear out his lungs. We also are on a new antibotic to help finish clearing up our ear infections.

Today we went back in to get checked-up again and to see if Nate was improving. He apparently sounds much better. The nurse was checking us with the fun cold thing she puts to our chest and the other part she puts in her ears... she is so silly! So Nate is going to be on the breathing machine tomorrow only if he needs it and we may have to go back on Friday if we still aren't feeling well. Hopefully Alex won't get worse!

Oh and yesterday was November 4th... you know what that means!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We turned 19 months old!!!! Oh and we got a new president. We wish we were a little more older so we can remember this very exciting and historical election. We followed it very closely all year long, especially since Grandad's 2nd favorite thing (after playing with us) is politics. Grandad's a little sad though because he liked the older guy with the grey hair, that and Nana says he is sick too :( We hope you feel better soon Grandad!!!! We got to go with Mommy to the polls and we ran into Mr. Ellis and his wife and kids (Mr. Ellis is the band director at the high school Mommy coaches guard at). We chatted with them for a bit and then breezed through. There were no lines and we were in and out within 5 minutes. We saw who Mommy voted for and the amendments she voted for... and while it is inappropriate to discuss that because it's no one's business..... well let's just say Mommy was very happy when we woke her up at 1am (we all went to bed early!) and she saw on the news who won.

So minus being sick and going to the doctors... yesterday was a fun day. Today everyone was feeling better. Nate wasn't 100% running around. But he did actually play with toys and walk around the play area. He even smiled and laughed. Alex is about the same. Hopefully tomorrow everyone will be much better... at least for Mommy's sake!

Oh and in case anyone was wondering!

Happy November!

Well we were big party poopers last night. We were in bed at 5:30 and didn't wake up till about midnight and then went back to sleep... all while Mommy and Daddy were at Aunt Courtney's and Uncle Todd's Halloween party. But let's back up and update everyone on our doctor's appointment.

Alex - 19lbs 4oz, 32in long. Yeah we know he dropped a little weight.. but to be fair last time he got weighed when he was sick he was fully dressed and on Monday they made him butt naked! As it turns out he has an ear infection in his left ear, his weight could be a little better but not too terribly worried yet because at least he is growing!

Nate - 21lbs 9oz, 31.5in long. Turns out he has a DOUBLE ear infection!!

Overall Doctor L was pleased with how we are doing... so much so that we are technically off formula... we say technically because Mommy and Daddy still has a ton of formula left so Dr. L said they can give us bottles of 1/2 formula and 1/2 whole milk... which we enjoy very much. YAY!!!!!! We also have been eating nothing but solid foods... YUM! We don't eat as much as we probably should, but we are getting better at it. We love cantaloupe.. oh and before bed we also get a bottle of Pediasure to give us extra extra calories.

So we have been busy. Miss Sheryl still comes every other Monday for P/T and one Weds we go to play group while Mommy learns how to help us talk. Miss Lori started coming every week to help fine tune some skills as well. We are very popular with the ladies.

We didn't go trick or treating since Mommy and Daddy went to the party, plus we can't eat the candy anyways, so we didn't wear costumes but we did get special shirts for Halloween. Next year we get to really go trick or treating and possibly eat some candy. Besides we haven't been feeling well so sleep was much needed to help us get 100% better. Our coughs are still minor and our ear infections don't seem to bug us.

Today everyone went to Aunt Courtney's and Uncle Todd's to celebrate Nana's birthday. We had so much fun running around and touching their dog Felix.

We should probably update you on what words we can "say"... we don't clearly say our words yet.. and we both know one word in sign language which is "more". We also can wave

Nate's words - light, cat, dog, in
Alex - cat & dog

We are currently uploading pictures from the farm and Mommy and Daddy's big night out.
Check out our webshots page later and look under the "Fall 2008" folder

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

We know, we know... we have so much to update you on. It has been a busy busy week for us, we have had doctors appointments, Mommy has had doctors appointments, Mommy dragged us to the mall, we have been getting beetter and we have just been too busy playing to update you. But a huge update is coming. We just have to run around and pack right now because we are going to Nana's and Grandad's this morning to spend the night cause tomorrow is Nana's birthday. They also will babysit us while Mommy and Daddy go to Aunt Courtney's Halloween party.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!

getting better

well our noses are drying up (and fairly crusty) and our cough has suppress nicely. We should be back to healthy in another day or two. Tomorrow is our 18 month check up with Dr. L. Granted we are closer to 19 months now... but that's when we could fit in to her busy schedule (since she has to make us an extra long appointment because we are so cute.... oh yeah and cause there are two of us!)

Nothing really new here, Mommy has some cute videos and pictures to upload when she gets a chance. One involves eating beef and macaroni with a tomato sauce (it was baby food) and the other watching the Hokie's game last night (which we would rather not talk about today). They should be up later this week when Mommy gets them uploaded on to the lap top.

Speaking of pictures. We got our proofs back from the photographer. YAY!!! Can we tell you how cute we are!!!!!! Oh and Mommy and Daddy looked OK too. To see them go to www.pictage.com and search our last name.

Ok nap and bottle time for us!

still sick

We are no congested. Mommy called the doctor's office and the nurse said to give us benadryl, use a humidifier and lots of fluids. She also mentioned something about using saline solution and sucking out or noses... but we are hoping she forgot about that part because we HATE getting our noses sucked out.

We have tons of energy though. We went to Nana's house yesterday and ran around like mad men. Aunt Courtney even came over for dinner since Uncle Todd is out of town on business.

Today will probably be a very quiet day for us since that stuff Mommy gives us makes us very drowsy. I would what Mommy will do all day if we aren't around to entertain her. She probably just sits on the couch not knowing what to do when we are napping!

:cough: :cough: time for our nap!

Monday, October 20, 2008

:cough: :cough:

So we have been miserably sick since last week. Alex started it! Luckily today we are feeling much better, but on Thursday night Nate wouldn't sleep more then about 40 minutes at a time so no one except Alex really got any sleep. Since Thursday up till about Sunday we were very clingy and needed Mommy around us at all times.. occasionally when Daddy got home we would let her out of baby jail to go to the bathroom (we don't know why she just doesn't use a diaper) Grandma and Grandpap came to hang out with us all weekend long too.

We are feeling better today, and sleeping better, and eating better. So hopefully tomorrow we will be almost good as new.

Zoo pics and a quick update

Well before we get to the goods (pictures from this weekend) we have some more very exciting news from Alex. Unfortunately he has a small cold, but Mommy took him to the doctors yesterday just to make sure there wasn't an ear infection. Good news... no ear infection... Better news.... Alex has officially hit 20lbs!! YAY!!!!! He has gained over a pound in less than them month since our surgery. WAY TO GO ALEX! Nate didn't get weighed since he wasn't showing symptoms... at the time. However we both woke up this morning with runny noses and feeling a little warm. It will be a quiet day in baby jail!

Alright here are only 3 pictures from the zoo... the rest you will have to check out HERE

quick update

Hey all! We are at Nana's about to take a nap so we are fresh and ready to go for our photo shoot this afternoon. Yesterday was AWESOME! We went to the National Zoo in Washington DC with M/D and Aunt Katie and her nephew Julian. We saw tons of animals... and people... and pigeons. We will give more details and post pictures later this week.
It was so much fun though!

All about Alex... well almost

So we are still waiting for the official pictures of Alex's head, so Mommy took some of him... they aren't the best of the progress... but you people are so demanding. They do not do him justice!

Also we got to go to St. Agnes today and visit our favorite NICU nurses, Miss Celeste and Miss Kelly. We also got our hair cut afterwards. Nate was awesome and sat perfectly still and watched Dora while the nice lady was cutting his hair... Alex on the other hand wanted nothing to do with it. Oh well... we all survived!

Big weekend coming up and we are kicking it off tomorrow when Grandma and Grandpap come to play with us. YAY!!!! There will be tons of pictures of the zoo posted later next week as well other pictures taken from this weekend... until then.. ENJOY!

Ding Dong the helmets gone!!!!!

YAY!!! Alex got his helmet off today. Pictures will be posted once Mommy gets the emailed from the fabulous ladies at Cranial Technologies!!!

He hasn't realized it's gone yet... tomorrow should be a rude awakening!!!!!

Today's the day!!!!

We are T-7 and 1/2 hours till the helmet is gone for ever!!!! Nate was so excited he woke up at 5am this morning!! We have such a busy day today though. We get to go to play group while Mommy sits has her play group with the adults (she calls it a class.... I bet we have more fun then the adults) then we are driving down to Nana's and Grandad's house and grabbing lunch before Mommy and Alex run out to the helmet place for the last time, then back to N/G till dinner. Alex will post his before and after pictures tomorrow when we get a chance... probably after our visit to the NICU to see our favorite nurses.

BREAKFAST TIME!!!!!!!

We are still here

We know its been over a week since our last update. But we have been busy little babies.

On Monday we went to Nana's house because Dada left for Seattle on Sunday for a conference and Mama said that no way was she going to take us on by herself for a week, so she packed up our stuff and off we went. We had so much fun! We were there till Friday morning and got to see Dada when he got home from work. We missed him so much.

Nate learned to wave "bye bye" and to blow kisses, Mommy has been trying to get video of that... however someone would rather play with the camera rather than perform for it. He is also walking around everywhere, very quickly!

Alex now babbles more and says "Dada", he is on the verge of standing up by himself, he can do it for a second... maybe two before he freaks out and sits down.

This past weekend we went to the bookstore with Mommy and to Target to get a new lamp for the living room, plus some new clothes because we don't have much for winter clothes, so Mommy picked out a few long sleeve shirts, and some socks as well.

This coming weekend will be a lot of fun, on Saturday Mommy's color guard is going to be in the homecoming parade which goes right by our house, so Daddy will probably take us to watch that. Sunday we are going to the Zoo with Aunt Katie and Uncle Ben and their nephew Julian, we've never been to a zoo before, lots of pictures will be taken, and on Monday we our getting our family portraits taken by the lady who did Mommy and Daddy's wedding photographs. BUSY WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Tomorrow we see the allergist... right at our nap time.. so lets all wish Mommy and Daddy good luck with that one!!! :)

More later!!!

rainy day yesterday!

Yesterday was a rainy day so we didn't get to go outside and play and today Daddy left for a conference outside of Seattle, so no fun time for us :( But we did get some cute pictures yesterday while we were playing inside. Alex officially gets his helmet off NEXT WEEK!!!! Everyone is so excited, we will post before and after photos up after Mommy takes them... which won't be till next week anyways. For now enjoy these photos.

YAY!

Alex is T - 2 weeks (and 30 minutes) till his helmet comes off for good... YAY!!!

Nothing new with us, just doing lots of playing. Nate is doing LOTS of walking and we are both enjoying this beauituful weather. Mommy has the windows open and we love hearing the birds.

Alex had a follow up eye appointment yesterday and Dr. W. say his eyes are now "dead on" and she is thrilled with how he is doing. YAY... in two weeks he will be a new man!!!!!

There is talk that we may go to the farm or a park this weekend... we will definitely post pictures.

surgery update take 2

Hey Everyone... Alex here... got some news

So everything was going really well until Mommy took off my diaper for his sponge bath and noticed his stent was coming out. So she called Dr. Voit's office and the nurse said to make sure I am still peeing and come in in the morning and they will fix it... however if I don't pee because the stent is blocking it we have to go to the ER, so Mommy called Daddy to update him and then went to bath me. When she took off my diaper afterwards (she left it on and just washed my hair) it was completely out.... the good news is it definitely won't block my pee now.... however first think in the morning we are off to Downtown Baltimore for it to get unstitched from me. Mommy is super excited!!!!

After all that funess.... someone.... and I am not naming names..... but it wasn't me... decided it would be fun to climb onto the shelves in our play area. Luckily Mommy and Daddy were watching and pulled Nate.... I mean the person who shall remain nameless off the shelves and immediately took the shelves out of the play area. However this does mean we now have access to all 3 windows to bang on endlessly!!!

Alright... I am exhausted! Night!!!

Surgery? What Surgery?

WE'RE BAAAAACK!!!!!

We woke up this morning bright and early... since we had been asleep since about 5pm. So around 5am we were ready to play. We slept through the night with no pain killers or feedings needed. Today we are 100% back to our old selves, running around, eating, playing with everything. You wouldn't even know yesterday we had surgery. We are still getting children's Motrin every 6 hours... but we haven had the good stuff with the codine in it since yesterday. Alex's eyes are looking great... minus looking slightly demonic because they are bloody, he is focusing better with both eyes together. YAY!!!!!! Once he gets his helmet off in 3 weeks he will be a new man! (And it will be harder to tell us apart!)

We will post the pictures and video soon. We are just too busy making up for missing out on playing yesterday.

Nana and Grandad were here for 2 days and just left and tomorrow Grandma and Grandpap come. We are going to get lots of loving this week.

Time for sponge baths!!!!!

Surgery Update

Hi It's the twins's Mommy! They are currently sleeping and doing well. Surgeries went really well.

Alex went first and had his eye surgery... which was not laser surgery as previously mentioned... but actual cutting of eye muscles. We can already see a difference. His penis surgery went really well and already looks much better. He had trouble waking up from surgery and not wanting to drink juice, however after about 2 hours I got the brilliant idea of trying to get him to drink from a cup.. SUCCESS! He just wanted to show the nurses what a big boy he was.

Nate just had penis surgery and didn't take very long at all. He came out of surgery and slept for about 45 minutes and woke up ready to go. Guzzled 9ozs of juice and was ready to hit the ground running (he did all this while we were still trying to get Alex to wake up and drink!)

They came home and slept, woke up and played for a bit and are sleeping again. They are on lots of pain killers and we will probably keep them like that through tomorrow just to make sure. We have appointments next week to see both doctors and get surgeries checked out.

We have pictures and some hillarious videos of Nate on the pre-op medicine (he looks stoned) that I will post later.

Thanks for everyone's well wishes and happy thoughts/prayers today.

surgery

Just got back from seeing Dr Landrum. We are a go for surgery tomorrow.

Very excited though because Nana and Grandad are coming up to visit and help out with the surgery and we haven't seen them in almost a month... YAY!!!!!!!!! Then this weekend Grandma and Grandpap are coming to help out..... we don't know what this surgery thing is... but people come to visit us = YAY!!!!!!

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On thursday we went to Alex's helmet appointment and we have some big news to report. On October 8th at 3pm the helmet is coming off for good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! Alex will have had it on for about 10 months by the time he gets it off.... that's over half of his life. Needless to say Mommy and Daddy are very excited. Mommy can't wait to cuddle Alex without the helmet whenever she wants to.

Grandma and Great Aunt Helen came to visit us yesterday. They took tons of pictures so once Mommy gets them she will post a couple. We had a lot of fun!

Today we are going to watch the Virginia Tech Hokies play Georgia Tech on TV... GO HOKIES!!!! However we kind of have to root for GTech too because Uncle Stephen is a senior there. But Daddy, Aunt Courtney, Uncle Todd, and most of Mommy's friends went there, so Mommy is an honorary Hokie.. especially since her colleges didn't have football teams.

Hopefully all goes well and we will still have our surgery on Wed. We have a doctors appointment on Tues. so we will keep you updated.

Tuesday, September 9, 2008

here we go again

This weekend was a lot of fun. There was tons of rain and we drove down to Aunt Courtney's for Mommy's birthday party, we saw all of our friends. We did have to go to bed about 1/2 way through... but since we weren't there we are pretty sure the party got pretty boring.

We are still coughing so Mommy took us to the doctors today. Our lungs sound great and Nate has a very slight fever, probably due to some more molars coming in. Alex doesn't have a fever but he has an ear infection. This.. as of now... will not postpone our surgery scheduled for next week Wed.

Mommy had to remove the chair in the video from our play area because she doesn't trust Nate to be left alone with it, so she is going to bring it in and out of the play area.

Miss Cheryl came for a visit with Miss Lori on Monday and they love what we are doing. Still need to work with Alex and sitting on his butt and cruising... but other than that not much else new.

We are going to go take naps and hopefully feel better!

Video update

This video is worth a thousand words.... look at Nate's new trick. Just so you know... he got up and did it again.

Thursday, September 4, 2008

MORE PICTURES!!!!

So after we got back from the beach Mommy and Daddy upgrade our "baby jail" to give us more space and toys, plus since Mommy had to move our cribs to the center of the room so we couldn't play with the blinds the rocking chair came down to our jail as well. Not much new with us. Alex is babbling A LOT and cruises around in his crib and on the furniture but still not our new baby jail gate.. but it's higher than we are used to.. so that's probably it. Alex also knows how to give high five... he doesn't always do it... but he can when he wants to. Nate is walking a whole lot more and he can wave... he just doesn't know when to do it. Oh well!!!!

Enjoy the pictures!

Allergies

Well Mommy finally got a hold of our doctor with the results for our allergies. Alex has the good news. He is allergic to eggs, which is no surprise because he had a bad allergic reaction when he was fed eggs. That is all Alex is allergic to. Nate is allergic to eggs as well, not as bad though. However Nate is also allergic to wheat, but they don't think it is a serious allergy because it only showed up as "weak" on the test.. however he has a "significant" allergy to PEANUTS!!!!!

We both are getting scratch tests done next month to verify and what not.

We both are doing well. Still slight coughs, but Alex's eye looks much better.

Time for naps!!!!!

VIDEO!!!!

OMG 2 posts in one day????? This one has a video of Nate walking, sorry it's shaky Mommy was trying to back up while she was shooting to keep Nate walking. Enjoy!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!!!

So we may be 2 days late but Friday was Mommy's Birthday!!!!!!! We have good reason why we didn't update. The whole house has been sick with a bad cold. Alex currently has an eye infection and Nate has a slight cough. Mommy is finally feeling better and Daddy is getting there. So what did we get Mommy for her birthday??? A NEW CAMERA!!!! Here are some photos from it.

PICTURES!!!

Miss Sheryl and Miss Lori came yesterday for some P/T fun. We are both looking very good and they are impressed with how we are growing and developing. But before they came we had a bit of a rough morning. Let us preface it by saying Mommy has been sick with a cold since Friday afternoon. So we do our morning routine as usual, Mommy puts us upstairs so we can take a nap before P/T. We were upstairs for maybe an hour and hadn't fallen asleep yet even though we were really tired when...... well we won't say exactly what happened but lets just say there was a blood curdelling scream and Mommy walked in to find us standing up and Alex's finger in Nate's mouth. Have we mentioned we have a lot of sharp teeth. Luckily no blood was spilled but Alex was so upset and crying so hard he threw-up a little bit and had milk coming out of his nose, which only made him more upset. And of course this was at 11:00 and Miss Sheryl comes at 11:30. So Mommy calmed Alex down and while she was doing that he threw-up again... luckily in the bathroom on the floor. So Alex got a bath to help calm him down and then everything was good. Lets just say that after p/t we passed out for a good 2 hours.

Grandma finally sent pictures that she took and we posted a few of them. Enjoy!

This is self explanatory. This is what we usually look like.

Tramatized

We were told we were done with it, that it would be a loooooong time before we would have to go through it again, we were talking months... maybe years..... BUT YOU LIED!!!!!!! We had to go get blood drawn yesterday for our allergy tests. We went last month for our thyroid issue and was told that since that came back looking good we wouldn't have to go through the pain and agony of giving blood again. Alex went first and cried and cried and cried some more. It took about 5 minutes for Mommy to calm him down again. Even then he sat in the stroller whimpering. Nate cried and faught Mommy while she tried to hold him down to give blood, lucky for him this time they only had to poke him once. Mommy said when we were all done and calm again that it would be a while again before we have to give blood.... we will believe it when we see it.

Our newly married Aunt Katie (aka Miss Katie.... aka Nate's Godmama) came to visit on Tuesday. We showed her all of our neat tricks and she took us on a walk with Mommy to Subway for lunch. We did go in our cribs for a little bit to allow them to have some adult time while they looked at wedding pictures and talked about Costa Rica. But of course we knew when she was getting ready to leave and whined to come back down stairs..... and it worked.

We have been getting back to a normal schedule this week. Mommy goes to band camp for an hour after Daddy gets home, but other than that it has been pretty boring. On Saturday we are going to Nana and Grandad's house to hang out with them all day. YAY!

Nate's walking is improving he can take more steps now before falling down and Alex is just starting to figure out cruising.

We're home

We had a blast at the beach. We got back Sunday afternoon and after we got back Daddy unpacked while we took a nap and Mommy went to the grocery store and Home Depot to buy a brand new HUGE rug for our new baby jail area. Our rocking chair from our nursery also got brought downstairs into our baby jail. We are so excited about our new play area. Except our cats can't get into it, but M/D let Piccadilly whenever she wants to check it out. She also loves our new rug.

Grandma and Grandpap came on Sunday as well. They are going to the beach next week, but this week they are babysitting us while Daddy goes to work and Mommy is at band camp for her color guard. So we have been having fun so far this week taking walks, playing with bubbles outside, biting G/G and taking out all of our toys in our baby jail.

Nothing exciting planned.. we had a pretty crazy 2 weeks so a little down time is going to be nice.

We are still eating like champs though. YAY!!!!!!!!!

Beach Update

Sorry we haven't updated. We have been so busy lounging on the beach, eating sand, splashing in the pool, taking siestas, eating and drinking a few bottles a day... of formula.

We went down the beach for the first time on Wed. We played in the sand... ate the sand, sat in the ocean and we got carried into the ocean as well. We loved it!!!!!!!

We also have hung out in the pool every day... OMG so much fun!!!! We love to splash around, take every one's sunglasses off.

While we are on vacation we have been hard at work EATING!!!! Since Nana and Grandad watched us last weekend while Mommy and Daddy went off to Miss Katie's wedding we are eating 3 full meals a day!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!! We both are kicking eatings booty!

However there is some bad news. Mommy and Daddy had to take Nate to urgent care Wed. night because he had a very crusty eye. Turns out he had an eye infection AND a DOUBLE ear infection. However no one knew about it because he was his normal self. So he is now on antibiotics.

We head home tomorrow. We are currently uploading all of our pictures onto our photo album. Check them out here - http://community.webshots.com/user/thetwaddles

PICTURES!!!!!!

We made it to the beach with only one major issue... we woke up in Williamsburg and weren't allowed out of our car seats so we started crying so much we threw up... so we had to make Aunt Courtney do an emergency pullover. The remainder of the car ride was uneventful.

Here are the haircut pics as promised

16 months

We are 16 months today and..... it's also Grandma's birthday today! Happy Birthday Grandma!

We had a blast at Nana's and Grandad's. We had an eye appointment this morning and Nate's eyes are fabulous however Alex's is going to need laser eye surgery to finish fixing his lazy eye.. that will happen at the exact same time as his other surgery scheduled for next month.

We are busy packing up our toys because tonight we head to the beach.

We will do a huge update once we get settled at the beach house and post lots of pictures!!

quick update

Well we got our hair cut today. Unfortunately we wont get pictures up till next week. We have been so busy this week we haven't updated. Course there isn't much to update about except Mommy and Daddy enlarged our baby jail area. We have new gates so we have the whole back section of the house... minus the kitchen... unfortunately.

We are going to be at Nana and Grandad's house till Sunday but we will post pictures Monday morning.

Have a great weekend!!!!

Wow what a week!

So we have been so busy we haven't had much time to update. So here is the reader's digest of our past week.
Monday morning Mommy went to something called the dentist, so Daddy stayed with us till she got home. While Daddy was watching us Alex figured out how to sit down from standing in his crib... he even now does it on command. Daddy left for work and we took a nap while Mommy cleaned up our play area for P/T time. Miss Sheryl and Miss Lori came and played with us. For whatever we were in a mellow mood and didn't climb over everyone. Miss Lori brought bubbles and Alex thought they were the funniest things. After P/T Mommy loaded us up in the car and took us to N/Gs house. Grandad came home a day early from his boating trip with Great Uncle Bob just to play with us and hang out. Mommy had to go help Miss Katie get some stuff ready for her wedding next Saturday so we hung out with N/G and Great Uncle Bob all day. We had way too much fun running around with them. We even got to spend the night there and play with them for most of Tuesday as well.

Wed. we ran a bunch of errands with Mommy.

Yesterday Nate wasn't wanting to take a nap and when Mommy went up to get him out of his crib Piccadilly was in the room so Mommy put Nate on the floor. He got up and hung on to Alex's crib and then let goed and stood there for a second... then he took two steps and stopped... still standing... then took another step and fell... so he is officially "walking".. instead of just taking a step and falling. He will be running in no time.

This weekend we don't have much planned. Mommy needs to get a lot of stuff ready, Next Thursday we are going to spend the weekend at N/G's house while M/D go to Miss Katie and Mr. Ben's wedding. Then on Monday we get our eyes checked out and then that night we are off to the beach for a week with N/G, Pop-Pop, Uncle Stephen, Aunt Courtney and possible Uncle Todd. YAY!!!!!!!!!

Well we are exhausted!!!!!!!!!!! time for our nap

weekend update

Not a huge weekend like last weekend. Yesterday M/D took us to the mall to get Daddy some new clothes, then we went to BJs to stock up on diapers and formula, then off to Safeway to get groceries for M/D. Lots of playing time.. oh yeah and Nate took his FIRST and SECOND step... talk about an over achiever!! Two steps right out of the gate. Without holding on to anything Nate can now take a step or two... YAY!!!!! However M/D are in no rush to get us walking.

Today was a cleaning day for M/D... we just played and didn't want to take naps. We have a few busy days a head of us so don't expect to hear anything from us till Wed. Tomorrow morning we have Ms. Sheryl and Ms. Lori coming for P/T. Then we have to head down to Nana's house and hang out with her while Mommy helps Miss Katie do stuff for her wedding... which is a week from Saturday. Then we are spending the night at Nana's and on Tuesday Grandad and our Great Uncle Bob are coming home from their big boating trip and we are going to spend a few hours with them before heading home. So lots to do.

Oh and Alex is doing a great job of pulling himself up to standing.... he just hasn't figured out how to go back down to sitting... Mommy is working on that with him.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend and stayed out of the heat!!

15 month update

Well Mommy kept us pretty busy yesterday so we weren't able to update about our doctors appointment. Yesterday we drove down to Virginia for Alex's helmet appointment, but Nana and Grandad were busy so Mommy just swung by there house to feed us and then off to the appointment and then we went straight home. Once home we got another snack and then off to the gym so mommy could work out and we could have some fun. We were so tired when she picked us up but we didn't go right home because Mommy had to pick up some stuff to make dessert. Now we know this is hard to believe... we are still amazed ourself... but life did exist before us and Mommy and Daddy have been married for 3 years... yesterday was their anniversary. So when we finally got home it was bed time so we didn't have time to update yesterday.

So here is our update

Nate - 20lbs 9ozs, 30in long, 45.5 cm head - his butt is looking much better after Dr. L perscribed something for the yeast. He can stand up without holding on to anything for long periods of time, currently contimplating taking that first step without holding on to anything. Loves to throw toys and bottles over the side of his crib and the baby jail. Will climb over anything in his way. Has more energy than the enegizer bunny.

Alex - 18lbs 1oz, 29.5in long, 43cm head - pulls himself up into standing position all the time now, but hasn't figured out how to get down. Just learned big brother's trick of throwing toys over the baby jail. Loves to bite anything and anyone. Is now crawling like a champ. Loves to sit and look at books. Loves to give hugs and cuddles.

We have to make an appointment to see an ear specialist to get a hearing test done, just to make sure everything is alright. We also need to get more blood drawn to test for other food allergies.

Time for our morning nap.

Quick weekend recap

Just a quick weekend update. It was not a fun one. Even though G/G came to visit and play with us, Nate had a diaper rash that went from bad to worse to a yeast infection... ouchie! But Daddy and Grandma called Great Aunt Helen (Mommy went to a bachelorette party for the weekend for Miss Katie) and she told them what to do and its looking much better. Sunday morning Grandma and Daddy then decided that we needed to try eggs for the first time.... bad idea... turns out we are allgeric to eggs. Alex broke out worse than Nate, Daddy called the Drs office and was told to give us Benedryl. That helped a lot.

Mommy came home and everything has been fine since than. We have our 15 month appointment tomorrow so expect a big update tomorrow night or Wed. morning.
